🌿 The legend of the Fayots of Oisans

The Fayots, derived from fée (fairy) in the local dialect, are mythical creatures rooted in the oral traditions of the Oisans, first documented as far back as the 16th century.

These mischievous, furry little beings with oversized ears were once invoked to explain the mountain's many mysteries:

- Cheese vanishing from bags.

- Tools going missing, only to reappear later.

- Strange and unexplained phenomena

- .…

This is an authentic legend, deeply embedded in the heritage of the Isère region and documented by ethnologist Charles Joisten.

A Trail for the Whole Family

The Vallée Blanche loop has been designed with every visitor in mind:

  • Accessible by gondola via the Vallée Blanche télémixte.
